2D Barcode Readers |
| Many companies are now discovering that they can put much more information into a barcode than just numbers. The latest 2D barcode symbologies such as PDF417, Datamatrix and Aztec codes, allow for whole paragraphs in some cases to be encoded along with special characters which enable forms to be automatically populated with real information by scanning a single 2D code. Many larger companies are now incorporating this technology into such things as return mailers from clients where they wish to capture the clients profile and demographic. The pharmaceutical industry has recently adopted Datamatrix code for the marking of small phials of drugs. Nokia now encode IMEI numbers into a matrix code in their phones that is only 5mm square! |
